Tiffany Tank 18K

Very rare Tiffany "Tank" men's Art Deco design wristwatch in solid 18K green gold, circa 1930.

Wittnauer was one of several watch manufacturers that supplied watches to Tiffany & Co. of New York. Wittnauer supplied this model in a Swiss-made 18K gold case, with the Tiffany name in hard enamel on the dial, and with Wittnauer's large, rectangular movement. This is the only example I have seen of this Tiffany model. It is in very good condition showing light wear and some small dings to the bezel. Hinged caseback is excellent, with a monogram and 1930 date. The case measures 39mm long and 24mm wide. Acrylic crystal is excellent, with some light marks. The watch is powered by its correct 15-jewel Wittnauer 9.47 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong. The watch takes a 9/16" wide strap.

Price $1,600. SOLD
