Elgin “Thrift 674” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in chromium nickel with black enamel bezel, circa 1931.
This striking Elgin wristwatch has a cushion-shaped case with Art Deco designs in black enamel. It was priced at $24.00 in 1931. This example is in excellent condition showing only very light wear to the chromium plating. Black enamel is superb and complete. Caseback is very good and unegraved, with some minor corrosion. The case measures 35mm long and 27mm wide. Original new old stock dial is superb. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 7-jewel Elgin grade 430 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
