Lord Elgin US Navy Clubman
Rare Lord Elgin "US Navy Clubman" men's Retro Modern design wristwatch in 14K yellow gold fill, circa 1956.
The regular version of the "Clubman" has black inlays on the bezel, but Elgin did special order versions with alternate colors, especially for college sports teams and other presentations. This example has blue and white inlays for presentation to a United States Navy Chief Boatswain. It is in excellent condition with no brassing. Caseback is superb, with a presentation engraving from 1956. The case measures 39mm long and 30mm wide. Original waffle-texture dial is excellent. Acrylic crystal is excellent. The watch is powered by its correct 21-jewel Elgin grade 713 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong. The watch comes with its original red Lucite Lord Elgin box (not pictured).
