Extremely rare Hamilton "Tiffany Touraine" men's Art Deco design wristwatch in solid 14K yellow gold, circa 1943.

Hamilton and Tiffany & Co. had a long relationship dating back to the 1920s, and when Tiffany wanted high-end watches for its stores, it chose Hamilton along with other makers such as Patek Philippe, IWC, Longines, Movado. Hamilton produced special versions of a limited selection of its 14K and 18K models for Tiffany, with "Tiffany & Co." on the dial instead of "Hamilton." These were then boxed and sold by Tiffany in its boutiques at a premium cost over the conventional Hamilton models available from regular jewelers. All of the Tiffany Hamiltons are rare. Hamilton records show that only 11 examples of the "Touraine" were produced for Tiffany in 1943 and this is only the second example I have ever seen.  It is in excellent condition showing only light wear. Caseback is excellent and unengraved, with the inside correctly marked "Tiffany & Co." The case measures 35mm long and 23mm wide. Refinished two-tone dial is superb, has 18K gold applied dot markers. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 19-jewel Hamilton grade 982 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
