Lord Elgin "Celestial" men's Space Age design men's wristwatch in 14K white gold fill, circa 1962.

This version of the "Celestial" was one of the last of Elgin's Horizon series watches that featured special "wrap-around" crystals that extended to the very outer edge of the bezel, allowing for more of the unique Space Age dial to be displayed. It was priced at $74.50 in 1962. This example is in excellent condition with just a few specks of brassing to the tips of the lugs. Caseback is excellent and unengraved with some light wear near the crown. The case measures 37mm long and 31mm wide. Has new-old-stock genuine Elgin factory wrap-around acrylic crystal. Original dial is excellent. The watch is powered by its correct 23-jewel Elgin grade 770 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
