Scarce Hamilton “Rutledge” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in solid platinum, circa 1941.

The “Rutledge” was Hamilton’s most expensive men’s regularly-catalogued wristwatch in the 1930s and 1940s, priced at $175.00 in 1941. This example is in crisp, excellent condition showing only very light wear and a few light marks. Unpolished case has all of its original brushed satin and bright finishes intact. Caseback is superb, with a small monogram and a few scuffs. The case measures 37mm long and 22mm wide. Refinished dial is excellent, has solid 18K gold applied numerals plated in rhodium. Hands show minor discoloration. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 19-jewel Hamilton grade 982M manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong. Has original platinum-finish crown. Has vintage gray calfskin strap in very good condition showing light wear.
