Very scarce Hamilton “Cushion Form” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in solid 14K green gold, circa 1927.

The "Cushion Form" was introduced in the spring of 1926, first with the 986A movement and then followed in 1927 with this version housing the new 987 movement with a sub-seconds feature at the 6 o'clock dial position. This is the first case design with the flush sides that was later replaced in 1929 with the flared-body case version. Only about 1,400 of this early version were produced in solid green gold. This example is in excellent condition showing only very light wear. The green gold case has acquired a spectacular deep orange patina with hints of violet. Caseback is excellent and unegraved, with one tiny ding. Case measures 35mm long and 27mm wide. Refinished exploding luminous dial is superb. Has new glass crystal. Has original green crown. The watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Hamilton grade 987 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
