Gruen Import Quadron

Very rare Gruen “Import Quadron” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in solid 18K white gold, circa 1930.

Gruen usually cased its Swiss movements in American cases, but it also imported complete watches that were produced in its factory in Bienne, Switzerland. These "Import" models are usually found cased in solid gold and platinum by Gruen's Swiss casemaker, Gruen-Weber. This model is very rare and is the only example I have ever seen. It is in crisp, excellent condition showing only very light wear. The sides of the case and the caseback have ornate Art Deco engravings. Caseback is excellent, with some scratches. Case measures 38mm long and 23mm wide. Refinished dial is excellent. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Gruen Quadron grade 117 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.

Price $1,100. SOLD
