Hamilton "Endicott" men's Art Deco design wristwatch in 10K yellow gold over sterling silver, circa 1945.

The "Endicott" has become extremely collectible since it was worn by actor Cilllian Murphy in the "Oppenheimer" movie. Around 1943, Hamilton began producing watches with cases using gold over a sterling silver base, as the brass normally used as the base metal in watch cases had become a critical war material. These vermeil "Endicott" cases are about 15% heavier than the usual brass base cases and are stamped "A.G." in the caseback to denote this alternate case composition. It is in excellent condition with only very faint brassing to the bezel. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. The case measures 38mm long and 29mm wide. Has new glass crystal. Refinished dial is superb. The watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Hamilton grade 987A manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
