Lord Elgin Futura
Scarce Lord Elgin "Futura" men's Space Age design mystery dial wristwatch in 14K yellow gold fill, circa 1958.
The "Futura" has a rotating brushed silver disk with a gold inset hour marker, and a conventional gold minute hand. It was priced at $84.50 in 1958. It is quite scarce with the original "Lord Elgin" printing intact on the outer gold hour chapter. This example is in crisp, excellent with no brassing. Caseback is excellent, with a name engraving. Case measures 40mm long and 31mm wide. Original brushed gold and silver dials are excellent. Correct wrap-around acrylic crystal is excellent with only a few faint marks. The watch is powered by its correct 23-jewel Elgin grade 718 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
