Elgin "Cavalier 2837" men's Machine Age design wristwatch in 10K yellow gold fill, circa 1939.
The "Cavalier 2837" has a long, stepped and angular case and was priced at $25.00 in 1939. This example is in excellent condition with only a few tiny specks of brassing to the bezel, and a small ding to the side of the case. Caseback is excellent, with a presentation engraving from Christmas of 1939. Case measures 43mm long and 26mm wide. Original dial is superb, has gold embossed numerals. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 7-jewel Elgin grade 526 movement, just serviced and running strong.
