Elgin "Round Engraved" men's Art Deco design wristwatch in nickel, circa 1920.

This interesting jobber-cased watch has a 3/0-size Elgin movement housed in a large round nickel case made by the Illinois Watch Case Co. Both the bezel and caseback are threaded to screw on, instead of snapping on. This is first example I have seen with an engraved bezel. The unpolished case is in excellent condition showing light wear. Caseback is excellent and unegraved. Case measures 38mm long and 35mm wide. Original glass enamel dial is excellent, with only a few extremely faint hairlines. Has red 12. Original thick beveled glass crystal is superb. The watch is powered by a 7-jewel Elgin grade 462 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.

Price $300.
