Elgin "Model 6606C" men's Streamline Moderne design wristwatch in stainless steel, circa 1942.
The “Model 6606C Service Watch” has an all-steel case and was advertised as suitable for service men. It was priced to consumers at $39.75 in 1942. This example is in excellent condition showing only light wear. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. The case measures 33mm long and 29mm wide. Has new acrylic crystal. Two-tone silver and white finish dial is very good, with some spotting. The watch is powered by its correct 16-jewel Elgin grade 532 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong. Has vintage new-old-stock military green gabardine strap with metal buckle and keepers.
