Elgin Legionnaire
Very scarce Elgin "Legionnaire" men's Art Deco design wristwatch in 14K white gold fill, circa 1929.
The "Legionnaire" has a large, elongated cushion-shaped case and was priced at $27.50 in 1928. This example has the very scarce uncatalogued black numeral dial. It is in excellent condition with no brassing. Caseback is excellent, with a monogram. Case measures 38mm long and 29mm wide. Original dial is superb, with just a few light marks. Glass crystal is superb. The watch is powered by its correct 7-jewel Elgin grade 485 movement, just serviced and running strong.
