Elgin "Penrod" men's Mid-Century Modern design wristwatch in 10K rolled gold plate and stainless steel, circa 1956.

The "Penrod" has a large case with sunray design hooded lugs. It was priced at $39.75 in 1956. This example is in crisp, excellent condition with only a few tiny specks of brassing to the tips of the lugs. Caseback is excellent and unengraved, with some faint scuffs. The case measures 38mm long and 29mm wide. Original dial is excellent. Has new domed glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel grade 673 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
