Illinois Rockliffe 14K

Very rare Illinois "Rockliffe" men's Streamline Moderne men's wristwatch in solid 14K white gold with original box, circa 1935.

Around 1935, Hamilton introduced this rare version of the Illinois "Rockliffe" model with an 18/0-size movement and an etched dial, priced at $75.00. This was the final wristwatch model produced under the Illinois name until the 1940s, and it was produced entirely at the Hamilton factory in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. It is a rare model, and this is only the second 18/0-size white gold version I have ever offered. It is in excellent condition showing only light wear, with the subtle bezel line still distinct. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. The case measures 38mm long and 25mm wide. Original etched dial has fancy Egyptian-style numerals. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 15-jewel Illinois grade 805A manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong. Original box is excellent, has unusual slanted black velvet center display pad.

Price $1,125. SOLD
