Elgin Legionnaire 408
Elgin "Legionnaire 408" men's Art Deco design wristwatch in 14K green gold fill, circa 1928.
The "Legionnaire" has a large, tonneau-shaped case and was priced at $25.00 in 1928. This example is in crisp, excellent condition with only a few tiny specks of brassing to the bezel. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. Unpolished case has attractive deep green gold patina. Case measures 38mm long and 29mm wide. Original dial is very good, has gold embossed numerals. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 7-jewel Elgin grade 485 movement, just serviced and running strong. Has original green gold-filled winding crown.
