Elgin Crusader 1837
Scarce Elgin “Crusader 1837” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in 14K yellow gold fill, circa 1937.
The "Crusader 1837" has a stepped, round bezel and was priced at $37.50 in 1937. It is a scarce model and this is one of the very few that I have ever offered. It is in excellent condition with only very faint brassing to the highpoints of the bezel and the tips of the lugs. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. The case measures 38mm long and 30mm wide. Original two-tone sector dial is excellent. Has new acrylic crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Elgin grade 524 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
