Elgin Crusader 1837

Rare Elgin “Crusader 1837” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in 14K yellow gold fill with boxes, circa 1938.

The "Crusader 1837" has a stepped, round bezel and was priced at $37.50 in 1938. Pre-World War II models with their original inner and outer boxes and serial numeral tag are rare. It is in excellent condition with only very faint lien of brassing to the round bezel and the tips of the lugs. Caseback is excellent, with a 1938 presentation engraving. The case measures 38mm long and 30mm wide. Original two-tone dial is superb. Has new glass crystal. This watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Elgin grade 524 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong. Original inner and outer boxes are excellent. Paper tag on box matches the serial number of the movement.

Price $400.
