Rare Elgin “Model E-7B” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in 14K white gold fill, circa 1930.
This uncatalogued variety of the “Model E-7” has a cushion-shaped dial and bezel rather than the round dial and bezel usually seen with this model. This is one of only a few I’ve had of this cushion-dialed version; it is quite rare. Elgin likely assigned a different model number based on the different dial and bezel, but Elgin researchers have yet to determine its true name from any currently known Elgin documentation. This example is in excellent condition with no brassing. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. Case measures 33mm long and 30mm wide. Original dial is superb. Has new glass crystal. Watch is powered by its correct 15-jewel Elgin grade 428 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
