Gruen Veri-Thin Diamond Dial

Scarce Gruen "Veri-Thin 739 Diamond Dial" men's Mid-Century Modern design wristwatch in 10K white gold fil, circa 1951.

This model certainly had a name, but I have yet to identify it from Gruen advertisements or documents. It has a round case with stepped lugs and a two-tone black dial. The watch is in excellent condition with no brassing, just one tiny nick to the lower right lug. Caseback is excellent and unengraved. The case measures 35mm long and 28mm wide. Has new acrylic crystal. Original black nickel finish silver gilt dial is superb, with diamond set hour markers at 12, 2, 4, 8, and 10. The watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Gruen Veri-Thin grade 415 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
