Rare Bulova "Rite-Angle Golden Boy" men's Art Deco design wristwatch in 14K rose gold fill, circa 1940.
The true name of this "Rite-Angle" model was unknown until an advertisement was found by a Bulova collector which identified it as the "Golden Boy." This watch was worn by actor William Holden in the 1939 film "Golden Boy" and Bulova advertising featured Holden wearing the watch. It was priced at $42.50 and has a radical wedge-shaped case with an inclined dial which allowed for easier reading of the dial. Usually found in yellow, this rose version is rare. It is in excellent condition with just a few specks of brassing to the corners of the rectangular bezel. Caseback is excellent and unengraved, with only a few tiny specks of brassing in the corners. Case measures 34mm long and 22mm wide. Original two-tone rose dial is excellent. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Bulova grade 8AE manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
