Elgin Radiator Grill Case
Scarce "Radiator Grill" men's Art Deco design wristwatch in pink gold fill and steel, circa 1935.
The jobber-made case is one of the many designs offered by mail-order jewelers to re-purpose Elgin movements. It has a pink gold-filled bezel with a radiator grill design and steel screw down lugs accomodating a notched strap. It is in excellent condition with just a little brassing to the bezel. Caseback is superb and unengraved. The case measures 43mm long and 19mm wide. Original dial is excellent. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by a 7-jewel Elgin grade 488 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
