Scarce Hamilton “Putnam” men’s Art Deco design wristwatch in 14K yellow gold fill, circa 1933.

The “Putnam” is perhaps Hamilton’s most dramatically stepped Art Deco design wristwatch from the 1930s, which keeps it in high demand among collectors today. It was priced to consumers at $55.00 in 1933. This example is in excellent condition with very light brassing to the highpoints of the lugs, and a few light scratches. Caseback is excellent and unengraved, plus a little wear at the seam near the crown. Case measures 34mm long and 28mm wide. Original two-tone dial is very good, with some light marks. Has solid 18K gold applied numerals. Hands show some minor gold-plating loss. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 17-jewel Hamilton grade 987-F manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.

Price $700. SOLD
