Elgin Presentation 228 14K
Very rare Elgin "Presentation 228" men's Art Deco design wristwatch in solid 14K green gold, circa 1930.
The "Presentation 228" shares the same casebody and caseback as the earlier models with the blue enamel bezel, but has a simple round bezel and unusual woodgrain-textured dial with gold embossed numerals. It is very rare and this is only the second example I have ever offered. It was priced at $85.00 in 1930. It is in excellent condition showing only light wear. Caseback is excellent, with some light dings. The case measures 41mm long and 26mm wide. Original dial is superb. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 15-jewel Elgin grade 444 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
