Elgin Boy Scout
Scarce Elgin "Boy Scout" men's Machine Age design wristwatch in steel, circa 1939.
Elgin offered a Boy Scout watch starting with a large 3/0-size version in the early 1930s, and then introduced this smaller 8/0-size version around 1939. It has the same stepped case as the "Legionnaire 1812" model, but with a special luminous Boy Scout dial, and was priced at $20.00. This example is in crisp, excellent condition showing very little wear. Caseback is excellent and unengraved, with some light scratches. The case measures 32mm long and 26mm wide. Factory-original new old stock dial is superb, has new special blue luminous. Has new glass crystal. The watch is powered by its correct 7-jewel Elgin grade 526 manual wind movement, just serviced and running strong.
