The 1844-O is a somewhat uncommon date $10 gold eagle from the fledgling branch mint at New Orleans. It is thought that only 350 examples have survived in all grades from the original mintage of 118,700 coins. Recently authenticated and graded VF-35 by PCGS (Certificate #46305869). A lovely coin with traces of russet toning in the protected areas and minimal marks for the grade.
